Anyone ever played Empire Earth?

That series was the most addicting game I have ever played.

I played one and two, but my computer litterally melted on the inside so I couldn't get three.

I think I might try one of the first two. Which one was better?

Yeah I played the second one. I owned EE II for a short time. I quickly relinquished it to a friend. The game looked good, there are tons of units, the game has the empire research tree. Its, just the actual game play felt very generic. I didn't play the first one but watched a friend play it. The first one looked a lot better to me. It was more like Age of Empires or Rise of Nations. After playing EE II and seeing the reviews for EE III, I had no desire to play it.

well to be honest m not that much in to RTS and yes i have never played a RTS game before LOL

They're not for everyone. I'm not the biggest fan, but I enjoy them.

I was a huge fan of Age of Empires.

It is Microsoft. They'll release another one. On the 360, no doubt.

Well I hate strategy games on consoles. And Ensemble Stuidios makes AoE and they got shut down after that Halo strategy game. But maybe Microsoft will tell someone to make another AoE but who knows?

I'd like it if Relic or Creative Assembly made Age of Empires IV. They're great RTS developers.

is it tue that AOE is considered to be the mother of all RTS games ! Cause thats one of the games that i heard first when i became a hardcore gamer!

Well AoE was one of my first video games.

Actually, I don't know how I forgot this, but Microsoft split Ensemble into three studios. So, I'm sure that Age of Empires 4 will be made by Robot Entertainment, Bonfire Studios, or Windstorm Studios.

Thats not what I heard. Either Dune 2, Starcraft, or C&C.

I believe that AoE was the best RTS out of that selection but can't say for Starcraft because never played it and Dune was just average.

I played the first Dune (didn't know there was a second because wasn't a great one but just average) It was a desert RTS and your base could only be on this hard desert platform and a cool thing about it though is if you are on the sand part of the desert...this like (can't remember the name or remember how it looks) giant worm would pop up and eat your characters.
