Battlefield 1943

I downloaded it tonight, but haven't tried it yet - anyone else give it a try yet?

I am going to wait and see if you say if it is any good or not lol. Because I liked Battlefield: Bad Company but not that much and I usually don't like World War games near as much as modern.

Tried to get in this morning - there was a message on the bottom of the screen saying they were down for maintinance - then a little while after it said they were back up and adding more servers so EVERYONE can play. I wasn't able to connect to join a game, so hopefully tonight after work i'll give it another try and see if i can get in.

Anyone else happens to try it before Keith & I, Please let us know how it is. I already spent the M$ points, so i'm stuck with it regardless, but I hope it's as good as it looks.

This looks like it's going to be too good to pass up for the $14.99 price tag. Let me know what you guys think about it when you play it.

Ok - finally got to try it out this morning - last night they were still trying to add servers to support the amount of people they had online trying to play. I got in 3 times and within 2 minutes each time, my Xbox froze.
This morning was different - I actually got in toplay a few rounds - it's not too bad - definitly worth 1200 M$ points (or $15). Graphics are pretty good, maps look awesome - I managed to get into a plane once, crashed & burned real fast as i have no clue how to fly a plane in the game. I guess there is a tutorial that takes you thru all that, but I skipped that stuff.
I'll be giving it a few more tries today or tomorrow, hopefully I get a better handle on it and can get more than 4 kills in 1 round (yeah, i'm not that good)
Overall, it's a long way off from Call of Duty, which in my opinion, no game is able to surpass.

well, since it's 1/4th the price of Call of Duty, is it at least 1/4 as much fun to play? haha... i know it'll never happen, but i wish the ps3 and 360 servers were combined for games like this.

Well who will get to that 25 million kills first (can't remember the number so I put 25 million, I was actually thinking like 43 but can't remember)?

I know last night the stat that ran across the bottom of the screen said they were already over 2 million kills - I contributed to about 6 of those and helped out by getting killed about 20-30 times

Well either way kill or die...you are helping out and I think the Xbox will get there first (more people of course).

well i played BF: Modern Combat way back on the ps2 , is it the same thng ?

Almost 32 million as of this morning. Quite a jump. I still have problems with my system freezing ever so often

Well if he dies....he still contributes to someone else getting a kill.

a heck of a lot less than that !!!! LOL !!!! Most kills I got in 1 round was 6 I think.

Anyone else playing this ? Is there no chat/voice feature with this game ? Everytime I play it's dead quiet - no one talks to anyone !!!! Makes for a boring game!!!!

BTW - had 8 kills in one round this morning - my best yet !!! - Still well below those who rack up 15-20 or more kills, but i'm progressing

This was a good review - kind of inspiring me to write that review for Call of Juarez I was asked to do - just kinda afraid it won't be a detailed as expected. Gonna give it a whirl though, when I get a moment - hopefully this weekend.
