Ghostbuster video game

Anyone pick this one up ? My daughter got it for me for Father's Day (used my credit card of course). I havet o say - this game was actually really fun to play !!! Almost all the original characters are back - only two I noticed that was missing was Dana Barrett played by Sigourny Weaver & whatever his name was played by Rick Moranis

I have been thinking of picking it up. Is it based off the movie?

I've checked it out in stores but still havnt gotten it yet.

It's actually like a 3rd movie - kinda takes place after everything in the 2nd movie went down.

Well....I liked the ghostbusters movies but I saw them years ago, and I mean years. But I remember that dude who looked like a giant marshmallow (not sure what he is. Please inform) but I saw that he was in the game. Have you got to the point where you fight him? If so...is that part cool.

Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man - Yeah - that was a fun level - I completed the game, so I've battled everyone. The one who you don't go up against from the original movies is the woman with the gate keeper & key master & the guy in the oil painiting from the 2nd movie.
There are many new original 'ghosts' you go up against. That's as much as I want to say without giving away any part of the story.

How do you actually fight the marshmallow dude? I would like to know how you fight something that big. Because it could be really cool or really bad in some ways.

Does everyone like this game? Joystiq gave it such a negative review, although I go there for news rather than the reviews so not sure if they're good reviewers.

Gamespot gave it a 7.5 but I am really curious about it. Gamespot also game Uncharted an 8.5 and Mirror's Edge a 7.0. So I don't know.

As you go thru the game, you earn money which in turn allows you to upgrade your proton pack - plus there are different types of 'streams' available as each 'ghost' has a weakness for one or the other.

The Stay-Puff battle is pretty cool over all - the ending of it is kinda funny.

I mean like...are you on top of a building shotting down? or what?

From what I've seen, you're hanging off of the side of the building. I think.

when i was a kid i used to see ghost busters on the TV. Now years later i guess this is the first video game adaptation of the popular show. I donno whether i will be bringing this game or not ! I really don't want to give away anything from the game, but yes, there is an event that has you almost knocked off the top of a building and one of the other guys catch you and you are hanging over the side while shooting down at Stay Puff

Stay Puff. LOL. That is his name. WOW!!! It has been awhile since I seen these movies. I am more interested in going and getting this game.

Actually, there was a Ghostbuster game years ago in 1988 for the NES & Sega Genesis system

Well with a lot of the original actors in it...just makes it more of a complete Ghost Busting Experience.

so what are the critics abt this game ?

I read somewhere that you like get knocked out A LOT and you have to have a teammate come over and help you out all the time in some parts of the game.

There were a couple of levels that were kinda tough, but it's a pretty simple game. Only time you can 'fail' is when you're alone and have to make you way thru the level, if you get knocked out, then you have to start from the last check point. I think I only had to start from the last check point 3 or 4 times - other times you were always with at least 1 if not all 4 Ghostbusters, so someone was always around if you got knocked out. The other guys on occassion would get knocked out, and you can revive them too.

Thats pretty cool ! So whats the length ? i mean 10 hrs at least ?

Is it based entirely off the movie or is it all the movies combined?

I finished it in about 8 hours - and it's more or less a 3rd movie. Doesn't really folow the 1st two movies

No - was on NORMAL
