| Dune 2 (The First Dune RTS), is the game that shaped RTS's in to what they are today. Dune 2 was before C&C, Warcraft, AoE, or anything else you are probably thinking of. | |

| oh....I take that back. I played Dune 2000 which in my opinion isn't as good as Age of Empires. | |

| Dune II was released Jan 1, 1992 according to IGN and Dune was released Mar14, 1992. Why did 2 come before 1? | |

| To solve the issue, Dune was what started RTS's, but Blizzard and Warcraft were what made it into a genre. Warcraft was the first game to successfully use the style after Dune and was met with much more critical praise. Now when Starcraft II comes out no one will remember any RTS but that  . | |

What's so great about Starcraft? I couldn't get into the first one. I think they need to make Warcraft 4. Much better series. | |
